Originally developed in early 19th century Chiavari by Giuseppe Gaetano Descalzi, the Chiavarina chair distilled ornate Empire styles into a lighter, more refined construction that went on to influence Italian modern design. This rarer “Bat” variation carries that lineage into a sculptural brass silhouette, making it as much a collectible design object as a place to sit. Newly recovered seat.
